| The Pentagram is a
symbol of faith used by most Wiccans. A pentagram is a 5
point star with 5 straight strokes. Also known as a pentalpha
and pentangle the pentagram comes from a Greek word which means
five lines. The first uses of the pentagram where found in
3000 BC in Mesopotamian.
The pentagram is used by Satanists with 2
points up and often in a double circle and goat head inside.
Wiccans and Neopagans use the pentagram as a symbol of practice of
summoning the spirits of the four directions at the beginning of a
ritual. However, within traditional forms of Wicca a pentagram
with two points up is associated with the Second Degree Initiation and
in this context has no relation to Satanism. The pentemychos is in
Tartaros, also known as "The Gates of Hell"
Known to Christians has the symbol of the
5 wounds of Jesus. The pentagram is associated with the planet Venus
with the worship of the goddess venus and also associated with the Roman
word Lucifer. Schools are known to prevent students from
displaying the pentagram on clothing or jewelry. Which violates
students' First Amendment right to free exercise of religion.
